Karla Bergeson Receives Lewis H. Shurtliff Award

Karla Bergeson, AAUW St. George member, received the Lewis W. Shurtliff Award For Contributions to Education from Weber State University.

Raised in an education-centered family, the 1983 graduate of BYU’s School of Law arranged to honor her mother and aunt by helping to create a scholarship in their names at WSU. She frequently acknowledges the positive role teacher-mentors have played in her life, and recently turned that scholarship into an endowment within the Moyes College of Education.

Karla has served on the President’s National Advisory Council since 2014. After working for 23 years at Citigroup, an American multinational banking and finance corporation, she retired in 2010 as executive vice president and deputy general counsel for its credit card business. Karla serves as Resource Development Co-Chair for the AAUW St. George Branch.

Congratulations Karla!
