Peace Corps – What It Looks Like Today

Peace Corps Today

The Peace Corps is a service opportunity for motivated change makers to immerse themselves in a community abroad, working side by side with local leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges of our generation.  They work to promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals:

  1. To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.
  2. To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
  3. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.

Steve Price, Utah Field Based Regional Recruiter for the Peace Corps since April 2014, will talk about what the Peace Corps is doing today and the volunteer opportunities still available to us at our March 13 luncheon. (NOTE THIS IS THE SECOND MONDAY) Join us for a meaningful service call to arms!

Any AAUW St. G members who have served in the Peace Corps and would like to share where, when and a brief statement about their experience, please email that information to Shannon Andersen or Jillene Lander by March 6, 2017.  Let’s acknowledge that amazing service experience!
